A new year - and a new website!

You know, there was a lot of news last year about how golf carts
where being allowed for street use in a lot of towns across the U.S.A.

Well, I decided that whatever my opinions were about the safety
and legal issues surrounding this trend, I might as well offer my
subscribers and website visitors a way to participate if they wanted to.

So, I’m proud to announce a new addition to the Triangle Custom Clubs
website family. It’s a site where you can get golf carts and accessories
at some the lowest amounts possible.

http://www.trianglecustomclubs.com/golfcarts.html

Of course it’s focused on electric carts, but you’ll also find pull carts
there as well.

I plan to add much more to this family of websites, such as balls, bags,
videos, etc so it can be a one-stop-shop for golfers.

Take a look and let me know what you think…

More news about Golf at the Olympics

The push to get golf in the Olympic games in 2016 is moving forward and gaining
a little traction due to both Jack Nicklaus and Annika Sorenstam being
named “Global Ambassadors” for the International Golf Federation.

==============================
Speaking of the Golden Bear…

Jack Nicklaus shot a 66 in November on his home course in Jupiter FL. It was
the first time that the Bear shot below his age. In case you’re wondering,
he’s 68.

Can Daley smash my camera too??

The camera that John Daley smashed a few weeks ago in the Aussie Open was
sold on Austrailia’s Ebay site for $1,075. There were 34 bids for the camera
owned by Brad Clegg that Daley smashed against a tree.

PGA Player of the Year

Congrats to Padraig Harrington on being named 2008’s PGA Player of the year.

But the money goes to V-Jay, who is now the top money winner.

And, no surprise, Tiger remained the number one player.

Who Do You Think Should Be Golfer of The Year?

So, who do you think should be player of the year?

Should be be Padraig Harrington, who won two majors? (and then missed the last two cuts in the FedEx cup…)

Or should it be Vijay Singh, who will (probably) win the FedEx Cup? (so long as he makes the cut at the Tour Championship…)

Or should it be Tiger? who won wounded at the US Open?

Or maybe even Greg Norman? (OK, that was a stretch… :-) )

Put your comments in below and let us know What You Think.

Here’s what’s going on in the clubshop at Triangle Custom Clubs…

Harrington “Surges” past Sergio

Looks like we have a “major” player…

Padraig Harrington drilled some great putts in the stretch and won his second major at the PGA Championship while preventing a strong Sergio Garcia from winning his first major. Again.

Oh well - maybe next season, Sergio - hang in there.

Speaking of next year - The Shark says he’ll be playing in the Masters next year.

It’s gonna be goooood :-)

Dry Courses
Did you know that Massachusetts and Alaska are the only two states in the US that do not allow alcohol on golf courses?

Oh, well I guess if you live there you know… :-)

At least Massachusetts is considering removing the ban.

Phil goes to Washington

In case you were wondering why Phil Mickelson was not at the Canadian Open, he was testifing before the US Congress in support of funding for math and science programs.
=================================
Rocco whiffs and lives to laugh about it
At the British Open, Rocco Mediate took a swing at his ball near the second green… and missed - ending up with a double bogey.
(Granted it was a terrible lie.)

He told someone later: “Just so you know, I made 6 on that hole.
…That first one was not a practice swing.”
================================
If he can do it…

Recently the PGA Board of Directors unamiously approved a class A PGA license for Ryan Ely of Maryland.

Ryan was born without the use of his left hand and the left side of this body, but he regulary shoots below 90, using just his right side and hand.
